Congressman #Robert Pittenger, Chairman of Parliamentary Intelligence Security Forum and #Bol Gai Deng, I was delighted not only for representing the people of South Sudan, Sudan but the entire East Africa Region in the world Conference.
February 1, 2023
To Whom It May Concern:
The report of my February 1, 2023 meeting with The Honorable Robert Pittenger is as follows.
On behalf of the suffering women and children of South Sudan and representing the members of the Republic of South Sudan Government in Exile (RSSGE), I met with Representative Pittenger in Washington, D.C. I was impressed by his kindness, humility, and his concern for the struggles of the South Sudanese people. We discussed at length the humanitarian crisis and how it has impacted South Sudanese people everywhere. We discussed the role of RSSGE, which is to help bring peace and stability to the country by working with the African Union, International Community, and the United States, calling for free and fair elections in South Sudan.
RSSGE leadership is working tirelessly and urgently to bring freedom to South Sudan and to rescue 8.3 million people from starvation, which is estimated by the United Nations’ latest report.
What is next for RSSGE?
1- Representative Pittenger has agreed to help organize a meeting between the Chairman of the African Union and RSSGE in April.
2- Plans are currently being made for RSSGE leadership to meet with Representative Christopher Smith, who has advocated for South Sudan since 1990. He was actively involved in the 2005 Peace Agreement in Nairobi, Kenya.
3- RSSGE leadership will participate in panel discussions at The Parliamentary Intelligence-Security Forum Conference in Panama, February 23-24, bringing the issues of South Sudan and Africa to the world’s attention.
RSSGE is grateful to Representative Pittenger for his time and efforts on behalf of South Sudan!
Sincerely,
Bol Gai Deng
Republic of South Sudan Government in Exile, President
